It’s Always The Little Things That Count

Keeping up with bill payments while juggling a laundry list of financial decisions, like whether to tap into your 401k or not, is tough these days. So many of us are looking for ways to tighten our budgets. But before you start cutting out big costs, you might want to start small.

The Wall Street Journal recently calculated how much you can save by kicking your soda habit and taking a shorter shower. The savings are significant. If you really want to lower your costs at home, go a little further with these tips and these ideas too.

Once you’ve established how much money you can save by cutting out the small stuff, take a gander at the bills you usually don’t open without first drinking a glass of wine. Bigger cost-cutting areas (i.e. home heating) are the next important steps. Tackling your household costs won’t just better your budget - it might improve your happiness too!
